Golden Christmas Card using Partridge & Pears from Stampin’ Up!

When I first saw the Stampin’ Up!® Autumn-Winter Catalogue back in August I was instantly drawn to this Partridge & Pears stamp set. I’m not quite sure why, perhaps it’s because of the Twelve Days of Christmas song? What I do know is that I love the artwork, it is just perfect for those of you who enjoy colouring in and that is just what I did here with my Blendabilities.

To create this look I stamped in Versamark on a Whisper White, Deco Labels Framelit die cut and then heat embossed using Gold Embossing Powder. I recently became the owner of the Stampin’ Up! Heat Tool, I know I know, I’ve been a demonstrator for 5 years and not got the SU Heat Tool?! I’m really bad aren’t I, but I always thought I don’t do much heat embossing, so whey do I need a SU one? Well do you know what, I’m so pleased I purchased one because the Stampin’ Up! heat tool is so much better than my other brand of heat tool. I think that was the reason why I didn’t do very much of it at all. You can be sure to see a lot more heat embossing coming to my blog in future posts.

Once I’d heat embossed the gold powder, I set to work colouring with my Blendabilites. The colours I used were Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and the Skin Tones. When I’d finished colouring, I took the image back to the heat tool just to bring the shine of the gold back to life. ‘Sending wishes for the merriest Christmas ever..’ was stamped the same and embossed the same way, but onto Crumb Cake Card Stock. To create the bend in the banner I used my Bone Folder to shape the card stock, and used some Two-Way Glue Pen to hold in place. The cute Gold Metal Button is also from the Autumn-Winter Catalogue, I’ve chosen the largest button of designs (there’s thirty-two all together!) Lastly I’ve thread the button and tied a bow using Linen Thread.
