Sneak Peek! Masking technique using new set ‘Birthday Blooms’
I’m back again today with another make using a new stamp set ‘Birthday Blooms’. The set will be live to purchase with the launch of the Spring/Summer Catalogue out on the 5th January 2016. If you’d like a free copy please do email me. The stamp set is available in wood-mount or clear-mount and I think it is very pretty. This is the smaller of the two blooms in the set and I’m enjoying water colouring them with an Aqua Painter at the moment. I’ve stamped the bloom in Smoky Slate, seven times in a row. To prevent overlapping of the image, I’ve made a mask using a post-it note.
My top tips for making your mask would be :-
- Make sure you’re stamping the majority of the image over the sticky strip of the post-it note.
- Cut up to, not over the outer line.
- Re use your mask! Pop it in a cellophane bag stuck into your stamp case so you don’t have to make the mask again.
- If it looses it’s tackiness, you can spray the back of the mask with a temporary glue spray.
Masking directions in picture form above.
I finished off the card by repeating the Rose Red border, and stamping a single flower in the bottom corner. I hope you will try some masking sometime soon, I’d love to see your results.
