Welcome to the first Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop for 2017! We’re back and ready to get going with our 12 hops for this year. Those of you who visit us every month will notice we’ve had a little rebrand courtesy of the wonderful Louise Sharp, thanks Louise!

Our theme for this month is ‘Wildlife’, and I think I may have stretched the boundaries of what Wildlife is? Instantly when the team came up with this theme I knew I wanted to use some of Stampin’ Up!’s cool designer series paper called Inside the Lines. This paper is white with a black lined pattern, designed for you to colour in. It’s SO trendy right now!

In my mind what lives in a jungle? DINOSAURS! Being a mother of two little boys, Matthew (5) and Adam (3), we have all sorts of dinosaur toys and jungle pieces, so I thought this combination from the No Bones About It stamp set and the Inside the Lines paper was perfect. And the boys agree!

To create the Triceratops, it’s made up of two stamps. The body or background is stamped is Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink and then on top the bones is stamped directly over the top using the Whisper White Chalk Ink Pad. I really love this effect and it’s the only way I’ve ever stamped it, I’m not sure how else I’d do it? Having the two stamps give you the option of stamping them separately or together. I’ve stamped the leaves that come in the stamp set and then hand cut them using Stampin’ Up!’s paper snips. They are stuck down using half a dimensional each.

Before I go, it’s probably a good time to tell you that the Stitched Shapes Framelits are back in stock, after they flew off the shelves we’ve managed to get stock back in very quickly. I’ve paired the stitched oval with one of the larger ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits. I LOVE that they all coordinate together so easily.
