Today’s the day! Today’s the day we’ve been waiting for since May 2016! I knew back in May last year that I’d reached enough points to earn Tom and I the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip to Dubai. At the time it felt like a long way away, but actually looking back, the past 13 months has gone so very quickly! With a busy Stampin’ Up! business, busy family and just generally busy lives the day’s have flown past.
Today is the day we set off on our travels to Phuket, Thailand for our all expenses paid trip (pretty much!) to the other side of the world! This journey will be the longest distance that Tom and I have taken, and it’s also the furthest anyone in our family has ever been too.
We left from Manchester Airport, UK on the first flight of two today. After 6.5 hours we’ll land in Dubai for a 2 hour stop, then it’s back on our final plane journey to Phuket for another 7 hour flight. With the way the times are, the think we should be alright with getting a little sleep.
I’m extremely excited for our trip, we’ve got some excellent events planned, visiting elephants, quad biking and lazy time on the beach!
I’ll pop back tomorrow to tell you all about the resort and what we can do there. We’re excited to see our hotel room allocation, I know it will be completely different to last year’s Mediterranean Cruise were the three of us, (we had Matthew) were crammed pleasantly into a small double room, with everything in it’s place. This time we’ve left Matthew and Adam at home with family, and the room is described as a “loft”, which sounds like it’s own little house rather than a room.
Another plane journey to go as I said, but so far the time on the plane has past quite quickly and we’ve had a delicious meal and shortly the flight attendants will be bring round Afternoon Tea. Things aren’t too bad are they, and to think I work with paper and ink for a living, the rewards for success are very, VERY sweet indeed!
