Sarah Berry Stampin’ Up! UK Independent Demonstrator | A little birdie told me card from the Bird Banter stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

I just can’t bring myself to put this stamp set, Bird Banter away on my shelf! I think the birds are ever so cute. Today’s birthday card features the parrot, which I’ve coloured as if he’s a Blue and Gold Macaw. The cardstock is my favourite go to, the Thick Whisper White which is a high-quality smooth cardstock. The Stampin Blends alcohol based pens suit this cardstock very well. The colours here are; For the body Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate, Night of Navy and Ivory. The background is Pool Party light and Crumb Cake.

Here’s my inspiration, isn’t this bird just stunning? When you visit Blackpool Zoo in the summer months, you can sit and watch these birds fly around in the display area, it really is a beautiful and unique sight! The get the balloon in the Macaw’s beak, you just create a mask, by stamping onto and then cut out a sticky note. Then when you’ve stamped it once, use the sticky note mask to cover up the head and beak of the bird, allowing you to stamp over the top with the balloon and the tail. So simple, but looks great doesn’t it? The balloon was stamped again onto Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, then cut out with my Paper Snips, layered onto dimensionals.

I hope you like my card today, I won’t be putting this stamp set away for quite a while. More to come soon!
