Today I’ve got two cards for you, they’re the same design, but the card on the left is a ‘Simple’ version which is stamping and cutting on the paper trimmer.

The card on the right is what you can create by taking a little more time and adding the dies, for a ‘Stepped Up’ version.

What do you think, what card would you create, the Simple or Stepped Up?

Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set & Dies Bundle 157819

This lovely butterfly stamp is one of three stamps from the new Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set. The other two stamps in this set are a plant and a tree. All images are a silhouette, meaning you’re only stamping the watercolour wash around the image.

SIMPLE CARD

I’ve kept the colour palette the same for both cards, Gorgeous Grape and Basic White to let the stamp do all the talking!

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Base card Thick Basic White measures 10.5 x 14.8 cm folded.
  2. With Blending Brush add Gorgeous Grape ink to the front of the card in an oval shape.
  3. Stamp the butterfly stamp in Gorgeous Grape onto Basic White cardstock and trim this down to have an even white border.
  4. With Stampin’ Seal, adhere the butterfly to Gorgeous Grape cardstock. Trim this on the Stampin’ Trimmer leaving an even border of 1/8″ or 3mm.
  5. Mount this onto foam pads and then position onto the front of the card.
  6. Next it’s time to stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape. The ‘thank you’ is from the Artfully Layered Stamp Set.
  7. To finish add a few random Iridescent Gems for a little sparkle!

STEPPED UP CARD

HOW TO MAKE

  5. With Stampin’ Seal adhere this layer to the card front.
  6. Now for the stepped up part! Using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, die cut the SHADOW die of ‘thanks’ and ‘you’ in Basic White.
  7. Next you will die cut the INSIDE words of ‘thanks’ and ‘you’ in Gorgeous Grape. Don’t forget to add those Adhesive Sheets to the Gorgeous Grape before die cutting to create a sticker.
  8. Cut off the ‘s’ from the end of Thanks. Shape the end so it’s a little bit rounded.
  9. Peel the adhesive sheet backing from the Gorgeous Grape cardstock and stick it down carefully to the Basic White shadow.
  10. TOP TIP – Start at one end of the word and then carefully stick it down, bit by bit as you move along the word. The letters are a little flexible.
  11. Cut off the ‘s’ shadow from the end of Thanks. Shape the end so it’s a little bit rounded.
  12. Add foam pads to the back of ‘thank’ and ‘you’ and adhere into the card.
  13. To finish add a few random Iridescent Gems for a little sparkle!
