Featured in the August-December Mini Catalogue is a stamp set called Coming Home. This is a set which is designed for Christmas cards, but I’ve taken one of the houses and a little lamp post and created a new home scene. I love that this stamp set has other possibilities for those New Home occasions. I don’t often send New Home cards, but when you need a suitable stamp, this would certainly fill that emergency new home card gap.
I’ve stamped the house in Memento Black ink, it is important that you use this ink, rather than another black ink because Memento is designed to work with Stampin’ Blends or your alcohol marker pens. Memento will not smudge or bleed when it comes into contact with the alcohol in the pens. Also, it is a true black colouring which is what you want in a black ink pad.
I’ve added a lot of different colours onto this house, here’s what I used.
- Gray Granite – Roof tiles.
- Cinnamon Cider – Brickwork.
- Poppy Parade – Front door.
- Mossy Meadow – Grass.
- Seaside Spray – Windows and outline of house.
- Mango Melody – Light inside lamp post.
The greetings I’ve used are from two different stamp sets, ‘Congratulations’ is from a stamp set called Peaceful Moments. The ‘Adventure Begins’ is from a stamp set called Walk in the Woods. I thought ‘Congratulations the Adventure Begins’ was fitting for a new home card, don’t you agree?
